New Year’s Eve Hairstyle

New Year’s Eve Hairstyle

Your outfit is not the only thing you will need to achieve a great party look. A hairstyle that’s sassy and impressive is important too. You don’t need to go to the salon and have your hair styled, because we have the easiest but sassiest hairstyles that you can pull off this New Year’s Eve! We’ve wrapped up the perfect New Year’s Eve hairstyle depending on your hair type. And we have the items you needed too! Just click on the bold underlined items to shop.

NYE HAIRSTYLE FOR LONG HAIR

Try something different with fishtail updo. This hairstyle shows crowning cute braids at the top of your hair. You can end it with curvy waves for a sexy look.

To start the hairstyle, make sure that your hair is detangled. A thick brush like Boar Bristle, will remove all tangles in your hair.

In order to braid hair easily, you will need something to smoothen your hair more. We recommend, L’Oreal Texture Smooth Essence. Once applied, it leaves your hair smooth with no greasy feeling at all.

If you like to do a clean updo, try something more interesting like the donut bun updo. This features an updo with a huge bun that looks chic! This hairstyle is very easy to do.

So how can you make a huge bun? You need a donut bun maker for your hair! This will shape your hair into a large bun without the help of any hair styling product. Just this and you’re good to go.

NYE HAIRSTYLE FOR MEDIUM LENGTH HAIR

For women with hair that is medium length, try this beautiful curly updo. Don’t be intimidated how difficult it looks, because this can be done effortlessly.

Basically, what you need to achieve this hairstyle are foam curlers. They instantly give you huge and wavy hair without using a curling iron.

NYE HAIRSTYLE FOR SHORT HAIR

Just because your hair is short doesn’t mean you can’t do many hairstyles. One of the hairstyles you can do is one sided hair braid. This look takes less than 10 minutes to finish. You’ll just take a few sections of your hair to braid and voila! You now have a chic hairstyle.

This hairstyle will look boring if your hair doesn’t have any volume. Use Suave’s hair spray before braiding. It is needed to make your hair look bouncier than before.

NYE HAIRSTYLE FOR VERY CURLY HAIR

Do you have naturally curly hair? Then, here’s the perfect hairstyle you can do. This is the retro looking hairstyle. It features the vintage pinup look with faux bangs. (P.S. you don’t need literal faux bangs at all to have this hairstyle).

The thing you need for the faux bangs is a mini elastic hairband. Just use any of your typical handkerchief for the updo.

Countdown to the New Year –Click HERE to customize this NYE invitation

Now that you’ve got good invitations, let’s start decorating your place.

THE PLACE-MAIN

A usual color theme for a New Year’s Eve party would be black, gold and silver. To achieve a festive mood, go for hanging decorations. But don’t settle on the plain ones – get various and fun designs. Hanging decorations with icons and texts are more playful and perfect. Next would be party items such as photo booth props! Your visitors will enjoy taking several selfies and a lot of pictures with these cool items. You can also gather all clocks in your house and display them in one place for a unique décor.

THE TABLES-MAIN

Don’t forget to brighten up your table with golden trays to place your popping champagne. For some sweet snacks, place candies in interesting snack boxes.

The food you prepared will be more appreciated if they are placed on plates that match the theme of the party. It’s better if you buy plate sets that include cups and napkins. Because they are less of a  hassle.

PARTY PEOPLE

The last would be things for your party guests. Always have those noisemakers for a loud and fun countdown. Just like squawkers and blow horns. Offer different colors not just one. Plus, those awesome party hats.

And when the party is over and it’s officially 2016, thank your guests with a personalized favor box. That will leave them surprised but grateful.

New Year Party Look

New Year Party Look

Oh well, looks like we’re approaching the last party of the year – New Year’s Eve.  This is another festive time where we welcome another 365 chapters in our life. That’s why we have to make sure that we look our best as we bid goodbye to good 2015. If you already have a picture in mind on what to wear but still confused on how to start, then check out our outfit ideas! We prepared the best looks for both men and women. Just simply click on the bold underlined text to shop.

On our suggested New Year’s Eve look for women, we have two ideas. First is, you can start with something easy to wear – which is a dress. A sparking fit and flare dress will give a sexy but chic mood. You can pair it with sparkling sandals for an effortless glam.

Second, if you’re tired of the typical dress look – then have a sequin top instead. You can match it with anything plain but dark colored like skinny pants or pencil skirts. Then for the shoes, use classy pointed pumps with minimal stone accent. Take note that both looks can be paired with drop earrings. Lastly, since you’re wearing something shimmering already, use a clutch that’s still fab but with shining details. We don’t want you to overdo the sparkle look.

WOMEN

We also prepared two New Year’s Eve looks for the gentlemen. Some parties require strict dress codes so go for the formal look. A tuxedo is the safest formal look you can have. And it gives a sleek and classy aura. Trust me, women like that.

Now if the NYE party that you’ll be attending is just with your loved ones – then directly choose the casual look. Instantly get a comfortable shirt and enjoy the party. Casual footwear would be loafers.

A fashionable watch shouldn’t be forgotten and you can wear trendy shades for that suave look.

MEN

Look no further because these NYE Party outfit ideas are guaranteed to make any head turn and impressed. Cheers for a New Year!

Rainbow Cookie Guide

Rainbow Cookie Guide

This festive season, our tables deserve to be filled with delightful and enticing sweets. Don’t have any idea yet? Why not try Rainbow cookies! These little treats have vibrant hues and irresistible sweetness that you must relish.

Rainbow Cookie

Creating rainbow cookies are fun and not stressful at all. You just need these basic techniques to start making them.

Step 1 Mix and color/flavor the dough

Make the dough.  Divide the dough into three or four equal parts and add flavor and color to each.

Step 2 Shape the dough

Roll each part into equal logs.  Use your hands and the counter to create square logs and flat logs.

Step 3 Create the patterns

Press the dough logs together into one log to form the patterns.  Refrigerate the log.

Step 4 Slice and bake

Slice horizontal into 1/4-inch slices and bake.

Of course, don’t limit yourself with the color and shapes. Experiment as much as you can and work your creativity.

Making the log seems to be a bit tricky, just remember to keep them uniform.

  1. If you have a kitchen scale, use it to divide the dough portions equally. Make a rough rope out of each.
  2. Roll each rope in wax paper. Roll the waxed paper covered logs on the counter to make smooth logs, stretching and compressing to get them all the same length. Stroking the logs with your hands helps to make them smooth.
  3. For square logs, press them flat on the counter, stroke with your fingers, and turn them and stroke some more. Similarly, make strips for striped cookies.

It’s easier to make the logs than it is to describe how to make them.  After the logs are made, press them together and refrigerate them until the dough is firm.  Cut 1/4 inch thick slices with a serrated knife.

Now that you know the skills to apply let’s start baking those rainbow cookies!

Ingredients:

  • 3-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1-1/3 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate (optional)
  • flavors and extracts (your choice)
  • food color gels (your choice)

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating until smooth. Continue beating until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the dry ingredients in two parts, mixing after each. Mix just until combined.
  3. Divide the dough into two, three, or four parts depending on how many different doughs you choose to make.

For the chocolate dough:

  1. For one half of the dough, melt two ounces of chocolate. For one fourth of the dough, melt one ounce of chocolate. While still warm, work the chocolate into the dough until uniform.

For flavored and colored dough:

  1. Add two or three drops of food color gel in each one-fourth or one-third part. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 teaspoon almond, 1/4 teaspoon peppermint, 1/2 teaspoon cherry, 1/2 teaspoon strawberry, or other extracts to the dough and mix in.
  2. Form the dough into cylinders, squares, or layers—a separate color or flavor for each. Refrigerate until firm.
  3. Cut the dough into 1/4-inch thick slices. To form the shapes, cut each colored cylinder separately but gently press the different colored discs together on the cookie sheet. Bake on ungreased cookies sheets at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until the cookies are nearly firmed and very lightly browned. Do not over bake. Cool on wire racks.
